Just like The Gateway (AIM base) in Mexico had become a home for all of us while we were there, another place is now claiming that title.

The Betor House in Nelspruit, South Africa, is our new place to call home.

For the duration of our 6 months here, we’ll be staying here with the exception of occasional trips. The Betor House is similar to a B&B. With the objective of providing a place where missionaries and mission teams (like us) can come to be refreshed and rejuvenated, Kent & Shay and Terry (the people who operate the house) labor to accomplish this through such things as wonderfully delicious meals, a swimming pool in the backyard, wireless internet, comfortable beds, etc. Part of our ministry will consist of serving Kent & Shay and Terry by making their workload lighter in whatever ways possible, mostly helping them prepare for all the individuals/groups that will come & go. We’ll also be able to visit the local school(s), minister to the employees at a real estate office and a meat shop (butchery?), and other things that I can’t remember right now.

The holiday season is effecting what ministry we can do right now because school is out, people are leaving for vacation, and everything, in general, is slowing down. Once Christmas and New Year’s Day are past, though, the pace will pick up. Speaking of the holiday, would you please pray that I’d be able to adjust to my first Christmas away from home (and without the cold and snow that usually accompanies the day) with little homesickness.

It’d be so great to hear from you guys because I love and miss all of you! Thank you for the prayers you’re lifting up.

and the swallow a nest for herself…”
